Globekey, Agent-Key and Portalkey software products
are owned by Oceanic
Consultancy Company Limited, a company registered in August
1999. Oceanic is an Application Service Provider, supplying an online
reservation system to hotels, apartments, inbound tour operators,
travel portal websites and others selling accommodation over the
Internet.
The first sales of Oceanic's software were made in
South East Asia in early 2000. These first South East Asian clients
have now been using the software for more than 8 years.
Oceanic's first American client started using the
system early in 2001, and since then Oceanic has developed close
working relationships with several representatives in the United
States, notably in New York, Florida, Missouri and California.
In 2001, Oceanic expanded into Australia in association
with Globekey Pty. Ltd.
In Europe, Oceanic is represented in the UK and Greece, where Grafica has been promoting the Globekey software
since 2001.
Early 2002, hotels in Hong Kong and China started
using Globekey.
Oceanic also has long-term relationships with local
resellers in Mexico, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Belgium.
Rod Wilkinson, Technical Director, designed the Globekey
reservations software drawing on his experience working in the tourism
field for more than 20 years. His career has included operating
his own tourism company in Canada; 6 years with Tour East, a respected
inbound tour operator in South East Asia; and 18 months with a successful
travel portal website in Thailand.
Sarah Capes, Marketing Director, also has more than
20 years experience in the tourism industry. She has worked in England,
France, Germany, the USA, Singapore, Bali, Thailand, Vietnam, Myanmar
and Cambodia. Her past employers include the French ski resort of
Les Arcs, South East Asian tour operator Tour East, luxury train
operator Orient Express and the Insight Group.
Gregor Vogel, Director of Sales & Marketing, has worked
in the Hospitality and Tourism Industry for over 15 years. A graduate
from the Swiss Hotel Management School in Lucerne, he worked with
Renaissance, Intercontinental and Marriott Hotels in Europe and
Asia. He switched from hotels to tour operating in 1999, and worked
for Diethelm Travel in South East Asia.
